Social Media Manager

Do enjoy making “friends” you’ll probably never meet? Do you check Twitter and Instagram when you first wake up and before you go to bed? Does becoming the social presence of an exciting new brand sound more like fun than a job? If so, then we’d like to talk to you!

Catalyst Outdoor Advertising, a leading provider of outdoor media in the in the New York and Philadelphia DMA’s, is launching a new initiative. We need a social media maven to build and manage our social accounts and start to build up a list of followers and friends.

The ideal candidate lives online, is an excellent write equally adept at writing an attention worthy Twitter headline or a blog post and is tech-savvy enough to manage a social media infrastructure.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

  • Work with the CMO to develop an ongoing social strategy, including cadence of posts (how often to post where), content of posts, persona, and other details.

  • Set up and manage Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social account for Catalyst Experiential.

  • Also manage the social media accounts for Catalyst Outdoor.

  • Monitor and respond to posts, including developing a strategy to manage negative posts or social media conversations.

  • Manage and report on growth in engagement and followers.

  • Use Sprout and other tools to identify and monitor relevant audiences and follow and engage with them.

  • Prepare reports of key topics and trends that relevant audiences or communities are talking about.

  • Use tools such as Hootsuite to schedule posts in advance to ensure a robust ongoing cadence.

  • Design eye-catching headers, icons, memes, and other graphics to accompany posts.

  • Stay up-to-date on latest trends and advocate better ways to reach and engage audiences.

  • Actively understand and the brand and become the leading brand evangelist.

  • Write and edit blog post and other company communications.

  • Assist in other marketing and company strategies and tasks as requested.


  • Excellent written and oral communications

  • Very social media savvy, with a history of personal or business social media accounts that demonstrate personality and voice

  • Ability to be interesting within the bounds of professionalism.

  • Self-motivated, with an understanding that managing social media is a 24/7 endeavor

  • Tech-savvy, with experience using Sprout, Hootsuite, or other social media tools.

  • Natural social media talent, with ability to create posts that attract attention.

  • Have your own reliable transportation

  • Possess strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and potentially Adobe Creative Suite

  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and other current web technologies a plus

  • Must excel in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task proficiently

  • Must be a self-starter and not require constant supervision

  • Must be willing to work beyond the 40-hour work week and respond to off-hours requests for assistance as needed
